CREATIVE APPROACH
GROUP (30%)
TASK
In a group of five, students are tasked with developing creative ideas to enhance the natural lighting and thermal comfort in either a two-story corner lot or a two-story semi-detached modern house design. The project involves conducting fieldwork to collect data, make observations, and suggest improvements for optimizing the current distribution of daylight and thermal comfort.
The Process
Our group selected a double-storey terrace house for analysis, focusing on the living room because of issues related to insufficient natural light and inadequate thermal comfort. They utilized tools such as the Sun Path chart, Psychrometric chart, and temperature/humidity chart to gather data. Based on their findings, they suggested various improvements to enhance both daylighting and thermal comfort in the living room.
